ANTIPAROS ISLAND: THE EXPERIENCE
As told by Zade Grilloni
Paros’ smaller sibling, Antiparos, is one of the most relaxed islands we’ve ever visited with such a beautiful vibe. The island is filled with multiple beaches and bays, places for shopping, delicious places to eat and cobblestone paths to get lost in.
Getting there and back from Paros is really quick and easy. A short 10 minute drive south of Paros Port, is another port in a town called Pounta. From Pounta Port there are daily ferry’s going every 30 minutes to and from Antiparos from 7:15am right up to 1:30am. It’s 1.30€ per person and 6.30€ per car and takes just 7 minutes to get across!
When we arrived the first thing we did was look for Tom Hanks. Not really… we went straight for coffee. But he does have a house in Antiparos which is pretty cool. We took two freddo cappuccino’s to go and headed for Soros beach. Quiet, soft golden sand, clear calm water, and those tiniest fish that nibble at your feet. It was very peaceful and makes for a good spot if your keen on a relaxing time. Most of the beaches come with beach bars and sun beds if your into that too.
After a few hours at Soros, we headed to a recommended restaurant for lunch named Captain Pipinos. We had fresh baby squid and the catch of the day which was a Thornback Ray fish. It was deeeeelicious!
From lunch we decided to explore a little. There was a nearby shore passing Vathis Volos Beach that was super quiet and picturesque so we sent our droney up for the first time in Greece.
There were a few more things we would’ve liked to do on Antiparos but we left it a little late as we wanted to get to Lekfes for the afternoon. So if you do visit and like to explore, maybe stay a night so you can check out the Venetian Castle, The old town and the caves!C
