70m from Ogilvy Road or 1km from Clontarf Beach
Castle Rock Beach, is yet another secluded, sandy shore that can only be accessed by walking. Clear, calm waters and one big rock that is seen as a castle to the crabs.
You can access the beach via parking up on Ogilvy Road and take the multiple steps down to the sand or via the scenic route on the Clontarf Beach. We decided to explore this beauty via the Clontarf Track and on the way discovered some anonymous small coves that were truly a sight for sore eyes. The walk is 2km return beginning at Clontarf Beach, up the stairs at Clontarf Point and finishing at the beautiful Castle Rock.
The small bays tucked away in Middle Head are really dreamy and should definitely be enjoyed. So enjoy them we did! we took a bottle of Pinot Grigio, some cheeses and antipasto and had ourselves a damn good picnic. Sunday plans on a sunny day? this is the spot Sydney folk!
