COME SEE CONGWONG + LITTLE CONGWONG BEACHES, SYDNEY.
|BEST TIME TO VISIT|
1 hour +
These sandy shores are located in the National Park near La Perouse. The track starts on the eastern side of the La Perouse Loop Walk. Before heading for the track take a look at the hill. You’ll find a small trodden path made by fisherman that leads down to the rocks.
This spot provides a pretty good view of Congwong, Little Congwong and Bare Island. So be sure to get down here if your insta game is weak.
TIPS: Congwong is for the kiddies and Little Congwong is for the nudies. There’s also limited to no shade in the afternoons so be sun aware!
1. CONGWONG BEACH
Congwong is a nice bay that faces Bare Island. It’s a breezy 220m to the beach from the car park above. The waters are crystal clear and calm, I now know why it’s so popular with the families.
2. LITTLE CONGWONG BEACH
The track leading over starts at the south end of the beach. It’s an easy 300m track. You want to turn immediately right otherwise you might end up taking the Henry Head walk which is a bush track.
About half way though there is an opening to a flat Rock that was calling our names but we were on a mish so we continued along. Just then I heard some chill beats coming from behind the vegetation and was happy that someone was out enjoying those vistas.
Although there’s an official Randwick City Council sign stating nudity is prohibited… That didn’t seem to bother anyone here. So if nudity does offend you or you have little ones, it might be best to skip this beach. Zade and I settled in and caught a few rays before heading back to do the La Perouse Loop.
