THE EXPERIENCE
Miners Beach is unique for 2 reasons. The first being its beautiful sand split and attached rock outcrop that reveals itself during low tide. When viewed from the headland above the entire formation looks somewhat like a whale tale especially with the two sides of the ocean at either side, magical.
The second reason people looovvee Miners is because it’s an unofficial nude beach. So if you enjoy getting your kit off to bask in the glorious Australian summer sun without fear of judgement, then welcome to Paradise.
Miners is a short 600m walk from the Shelly Beach car park which also has nice new facilities including toilets, outdoor showers, BBQ and picnic tables with shallow calm waters perfect for families. The track to Miners begins on the right end of Shelly Beach car park and leads immediately up and around the headland.
300m in there’s a small break in the fence line that leads down to a little unnamed rocky inlet so make sure you get down to climb a few rocks before you hit the main attraction. Miners is backed by the high Bluff and the thick vegetation of the Sea Acres Rain forest so although you’re literally 10 minute walk from suburbia you’ll feel like your on a tropical island somewhere far far away.
We’ll definitely be spending some more time along this stretch of sand on our upcoming lap around Australia.
