With Nobby’s beach to your left, the big lump of greenery that stands 30 high before you is Nobby head. Although there’s not a huge amount of signage for this walk there is a well trodden dirt path that leads up to the top.
For the most part the surrounding trees are quite dense so you’ll feel deep in a rainforest. Every now and then the trees will open up and offer views down toward Shelly beach. The climb itself lasts for about 10 minutes so its definitely not a strenuous one, perfect if you have a full days itinerary planned.
At the top of the hill you’ll come to a rather un-kept plateau with a memorial monument for a man by the name of Henry Gardiner who drowned in 1874 in a cave below trying to save the life of his friend; J W Hume. And if you look out to the right you’ll see an endless horizon of water which can be quite beautiful and intimidating at the same time.
