RED BEACH: THE EXPERIENCE
Ahhhhh the infamous Red Beach of Santorini. Touristy? yes. Beautifully unique? also yes. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and put up with the bus loads of loud Asians to see what you wanna see. We got to visit Red Beach twice while we were in Europe. The first time was with my family when we stopped at Santorini for a day trip whilst on a cruise. On that occasion we visited we didn’t stay too long because it was right in the middle of the day and right in the middle of tourist season. And the second time we visited, it was early in the morning to try and beat the crowds.
When we got there, Jackie told me it was the same fruit man and the same jewellery man that have their set ups from 3 years ago when she first visited. To get down to the beach from the parking is about a 10 minute walk around the cliff side which is actually really dangerous but everyone goes down anyway. When we got up to the view of the beach i noticed something looked different and realized it was that more of the rock wall had collapsed. We decided to stay up the top and admire the beach from above.
So instead of heading down we sent our droney up to take some shots. Something about that blue ocean red sand combo. Worth the visit. Even if its a short one!
