TSIGRADO BEACH: THE EXPERIENCE
Tsigrado Beach is in a field of its own. And quite a reward once reached. We visited in early October and it was slowly getting chillier and at times the sun didn’t want to show so if you want that good good hot island sun maybe visit mid – late September. There were pros and cons of visiting in early October. Cons were because most tour companies were closed and the weather wasn’t always sunny and clear. But the pros were that there weren’t many crowds and at times some discounts before business’ pack up for the year.
Nestled between two cliffs, on the southern part of the island, lies one of Milos’ best kept secrets.
To access the beach you must first grip a large rope that will aid you in getting down to an unstable ladder.
Then you’ll climb down backwards to reach the amazing Tsigrado Beach. I mean if it could be easily accessed and you could walk straight up to it, would it be that amazing? or would it just be ‘another beach’…food for thought. We know from experience that a destination that is slightly more difficult to get to, has typically proven to be one of the more beautiful/enjoyed.
Once down on the beach, we instantly noticed a small cave entrance on the far left. So of course we had to explore it! In fact i could’ve stayed in the cave for a while. It was nice in there, peaceful. Those bright blue tones were mesmerizing.
The tide started coming in so we headed back out and flew the droney to get them birds eye views.
The sun was going in and out but that didn’t take away from its beauty. Hopefully this beauty remains one of the lesser known gems in Milos for a while. Tsigrado is an unorganized beach so if you do plan on visiting, we suggest to bring some snacks and drinks with you and definitely some sun protection for the warmer months!
